Microprose

Not being sure what to call this form of writing, I made up the above term. I'm sure somebody's got a name for it, but I made the form itself up all on my own and figured I could name it.

Here's the challenge: Write a one-paragraph story, with beginning, middle and end, but no contextual clues. Tell a story or just set a scene, but let the reader bring the context. In the best case, it may say something about the reader to the reader.

The stories are, therefore, intentionally short and vague, but hopefully still enough to suggest something to the reader. I also decided that each story should begin and end with the same phrase.

To keep them pure, I will not say what I had in mind while writing them, though in each case I had something specific in mind. And it would be courteous of readers to not divulge to one another their own interpretations until each has made independent conclusions.
