Recent Site Updates

November 16 - As you can see below, I've been working my way through every single page on this site, revising formatting and tweaking (or writing) scripts. This is to standarize everything in perparation for the new ballpark site. Odd that it all goes back to that, but it does.

The ballpark pages continue making very slow but deliberate progress. Each individual page is taking about 10 days to complete. Much of this is research, weeding through hundreds of web sites looking for nuggets of good (and verifiable) information, as well as nice photos. In addition, there's the matter of selecting and editing photos, video, and audio clips from my 2002 trips to major league parks (Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago Comiskey, Boston, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago Wrigley and Milwaukee). Needless to say, there's a whole winter's worth of stuff, and it's going to take about that long to get through it all. In addition to visiting the present parks, I also located sites in each city where parks used to be (including a harrowing trip into the neighborhoods of St. Louis).

The biggest news on the site may be that I've added TONS of content to each category as I've updated it. That means there are now over 100 music clips available on the sight, most new within the past 10 days. In addition, the comment script has been updated, so please make use of it. Tell me what's on your mind, or better, talk about the content of the page. Comments you leave on a specific page will be available to anyone else who visits that page, and the comment form is on every single page which contains content of any sort. Use it!

In truth, working on these pages has made it difficult to keep up with documenting the updates. Literally everything is changing. So poke around and enjoy.

Other visitor comments about this page

I really enjoyed finding your web-site pertaining to Metropolitan Stadium. I grew up in West Central Minnesota, about 120 miles from Bloomington, and was afforded an opportunity to take a trip to a Twins game as a child about 5 or 6 times. Each trip was for a special affiliation: Little league, Alter Boys, Safety Patrol, etc, and we always sat in the bleachers in the outfield. I actually got a splinter in my back-side during one of the games and had to wait until I got home to take care of it. Had I known that the stadium were going to be demolished, Perhaps I would have saved the splinter. Your web-site was a delightful trip down memory lane. I hope you locate even more photos of the old met.

Thanks for such a great website. The photos from the old Met really bring back some memories that are almost forgotten. I only wish for some seats from the old Met!!!
