Say what you want, but the Partridge Family, being a contrivance of a TV studio (like
another favorite, The Monkees), needed to find some songs to sell and some musicians
to record them.
The result was an amazing collection of songwriters creating some amazing pop songs,
then turning them over to real studio pros who crafted some amazing records. Not all
of these were hits, of course, but they all stand as some of the best pure pop ever.
Forget the TV show (lightweight, automatic writing at best), and forget about your
crush on David Cassidy or Susan Dey (which, admittedly, may be extremely difficult). Listen to the records.

It should be noted that some of the greatest hits collections (there are six I think)
contain tracks not found on any of these albums, though they also contain some tracks
which were actually from David Cassidy solo projects. This can get confusing.
In addition, many songs which appeared in episodes never made it onto vinyl. And there's
a site (below) which claims to have the complete listing of every Partridge Family
recording ever made -- as detailed by one of the producers. I'll sort through these things
over time and add them here.
