It should be noted that before this trip to the fair, we engaged in the
attempt to hit baseballs at a batting cage. Kevin did much better than I, and we
both injured ourselves, but not seriously enough to impact our fair activities.
We ended up arriving about 6:30, and staying until about 10:30.
Transportation: U of M Park-N-Ride.
Weather: Perfect.
Things we saw: MPR booth, Dog building, Cyber Ballpark, Technology pavilion, Fine Arts
building, pre-teen talent show, warm-up at the band shell, Kidway, WCCO radio booth (checking
the score of the game with KC), Bazaar, Midway x 2, horse and cow barns.
Things we ate: Cheese curds x 2, 1919 root beer, Tom Thumb donuts, Vescio's
garlic bread, corn on the cob, alligator sausage on a stick, burger, jumbo Mountain Dew.
Weird thing we did: Went back to the Twins booth for a second helping
of free baseball cards (pretending like we'd never been there before).
Celebrity sighting: Ron Schara's dog, Raven, from Minnesota Bound.

Kevin gets some cheese curds (above) and we visit the so-called Cyber Ballpark (below,
not as impressive as it sounds).

This is not the batting cage we tried -- this was just for kids.
Below, a glorious panorama from the spot in front of the cheese curd stand.

One of the fair icons, the cheese curd stand in the food building.

An icon of a different sort: Raven, the famous hound.
