Downtown Park (The Pillbox)

Robert Street North and Twelfth Street East, St. Paul
(1903-1909)

 

The appearance of the capitol building gives a sense of just how close it was to this park.
The photo below was taken a century later from almost exactly the same spot.

 

This picture was taken from a nearby parking ramp in April, 2002.
This plain square parking lot, now overlooking I-94/35E commons trench, is where the Pillbox once stood.
